Philips DVDR3305 - DVD+RW playable on other machines?
I`ve recorded some stuff from video to DVD+RW media using the Philips DVDR3305, and used the "Make Compatible" function so it should be usable on other DVD players, as stated in the manual. However I can`t play the disc on my Panasonic SA-HT520 player, as there is no option to finalise a +RW disc on the Philips.
Any suggestions, as I don`t really want to be using +R discs all the time?
Thanks,
Belgrave

You`ll be wasting your time putting +Rs in your Panny as the thing doesn`t read +R, +RW or -RW for that matter. It`s in the small print under "Discs You Cannot Play" in the instruction manual.

Although my older Panny recorder HS2 would not play +RW it would play +R.
My even older Panny player would play +RW and +R without a hitch, although discs with printable tops had a few hiccups

I have the 3305 and all recordings made on DVD+RW play in my parents` LG DVD5083 as well as my fiancee`s Hitachi (which is a Philips clone).
Also plays on my brother`s PS2.

my ancient panny e30 plays most +r`s & it has been known to (very selectively) play +rw`s but this seemed to have been purposely removed in the next gen of recorders (the e50`s etc) in fact i recal having a conversation about this obvious panny strategy with nostalgiadvd, i think we decided it had been done on purpose but backfired, fortunately the new panny`s have rectified this :)

+RW disks don`t get finalised hence you dont get the option. Seems others have pinpointed problem to compatability of Panasonic. I have a DVDR610 and find that I get jumy playback on +R finalised disks when played on 2 Philips DVD players that the kids have but they playback fine on my Goodmans TV/Video combi??
