Can you be more precise please.

The channels that you cannot record - which ones ?

When you say you cannot record them, do you mean you get no recording at all or that the recording will not play clear, watchable pictures.

I suspect he means the PPV and Sky Movies.
Some of them are transmitted with Macrovision, so you would need one of those fancy cables to strip out the copy protection (for whatever perfectly legitimate reason you can think of :* ).

They seem to be the channels that require a sky card to receive, which of course I have. Time shift works fine on all channels so the record gets to the hard drive.lelogwen

Sky Movies is not encoded with Macrovision. The only channels with copy protection are box office.
If you have trouble recording any other channels you have a fault somewhere.
I had a similar problem about 2 years ago which eventually involved top technical bods from Isleworth as it seemed to be the first of its kind.
However,it does seem to be starting to crop up with a bit more regularity these days on various forums,no doubt due to another fantastic Sky upgrade that usually results in more problems than it cures

iv had no bother recording anything on sky channel onto my dvd recorder (sky+ amstrad box and cyberhome dvd recorder using a skyeye and video decoder everything works fine although accasionally the weather will distort the signal thus losing pic or sound
but other than that works well

maybe becouse i have a decoder maybe worth thinking about.............
