Toshiba Sd210 Multi Region Any Good?????

Neil aka Neiliboy (Competent) posted this on Friday, 17th August 2001, 00:36

Im planning on buying a silver Toshy SD210 as my 1st DVD player from Techtronics.com can anyone tell me if they`ve had any problems or generally how good they are? I`ve heard they are pretty good, its got all the outputs i need to plug int me Sony DD/DTS amp and a relatively new Toshy 28inch (not widescreen) TV. Got any other recommendations for the sub 200 squids mark? Other thoughts included Pioneer DV343 and Philips DV712 (i think).
I`d like to know asap so i can order one quick time!

Cheers

As a novice, the 210 was very easy to set up. Only thing I found out not to do was use the onboard `spatilizer` thingy with the DD amp as it buggered up the placement of the sound

Great picture and sound though

Also, bloody useful it being a little shallower than other players as in my set up, space for cables is tight and it allows some space for scarts to be out of the way

practical or what!

Don`t know about the multiregion thing but I think it`s a great machine.
The set-up especially seems to have had some serious thought put into it from a beginners point of view instead of the LG I used to own, the set-up of which was obviously desgined by someone who assumed the buyer would have a fair knowledge of DVD`s already.
Picture`s great, whether you use RGB or S-VHS, sound is great, it`s very quiet in operation and the remote is very good too.
I`m chuffed with mine at £181( pricematch from John Lewis ), but then I don`t need multiregion.
If their TV`s are as well thought out as their DVD`s I kinda wish I`d looked at one of them as well.
