Local scottish power store want £220.
Link online want around the same once VAT is included.
Anyone bought one cheaper anywhere ?
Don`t need one chipped for multiregion or anything.
Plan is I`ll see if John Lewis do that model, and I`ll go along armed with internet printout.
Wonder if they`d notice that Link`s printout is supposed to be +vat ?........hmmmmm.......
Richer sounds £187 www.richer.co.uk

Cheers Paul
I`m off to John Lewis with my empire direct printout !
They`re selling the Tosh for £229 so they`re going to get a shock when I turn up wanting it for £181 !
Their risk though.
Cheers again

Hi Andy.
Surprised you don`t want a multiregion version?,
I bought the 210 but multiregion was a must for me. Certainly something to consider imo, especially as it is only an extra £19.
RE: Cheapest place for Toshiba SD210
I eventually bought mine through the Barclaycard indigo Square site that has a price promise guarentee. Thw actual purchase was via Web electricals and the player is Multi Region. The price promise was taken against a price of £179 at DVD Specialists, so I recknon its a good deal!
RE: Cheapest place for Toshiba SD210
Hi, PaulBu. Was the Toshiba that u bought MR? Can it play RCE disc, and how is the quality? I am interested to buy one
It`s not that I`m actively avoiding multiregion as such, just that I`m not a DVD buyer. I just rent them from local blockbuster.I`m also a bit wary of buying a machine off the net, and this seems to be the only way of buying multiregion.
This website has opened my eyes to the multitude of problems there can be with DVD players, so I`d rather buy from a local store !
I take it the Tosh is not remote hackable ?
RE: Cheapest place for Toshiba SD210
Yes the DVD is multi-region but I am not sure about RCE compliant. I am having it delivered tomorrow so I will let you know about the quality but all of the reviews that I read reckon its very good. I have purchased good quality leads (Ixos scart and co-axial) as recommended by many in this forum so along with my Dolby Digital Toshiba I hope to sit back and get blown away.
At £179 who can complain?
RE: Cheapest place for Toshiba SD210
Andy,
As for worrying about buying over the net I purchased via the Barclaycard site using Barclaycard and so it comes complete with a 12 month Barclaycard guarentee as soon as you register it with them. They then offer an extra 4 year warentee at a reasonable cost. The DVD from Web Electricals is MR and they warentee it as well.
