Page 1 of Best Freeview Box?
Hardware Forum
I`m thinking about buying a freeview box for my TV in the bedroom. I don`t want to spend too much money on it. I`ve seen a selection in Tesco ranging from £35 to £65. I can`t remeber the makes/models though. Can anyone recommend one?
By the way, I only have an indoor aerial on that particular TV - does that matter? Do you need an aerial for a freeview box or am I being silly?
Thanks for your help.

Without a shadow of doubt, the best freeview box I`ve seen is the Sony.
Beats the others hands down.
There are people selling them for £59.50 on ebay, which is a bargain.

I know a few people who use indoor aerials with their freeview.
Just try it and see.
Thanks Bowfer.
I might try to pick one up at the weekend.

I`ve had three Freeview boxes and would also agree that the Sony is the best. The only thing I don`t really like about the Sony is the EPG, but other than that its very good.
It also has the advantage of having a optical digital output.

Adam/Bowfer,
At the risk of sounding silly - what is the EPG?
Thanks,

dsmso :)
I myself have the Goodmans GDB5. An excellent Freeview box with the added bonus of being a DAB radio as well.
I use ours with a small indoor aerial and TBH the only channel I have ever had trouble with is Sky Sports News. For some reason we sometimes lose it but then it reappears a few seconds later.
I use ours with Audio leads connected to my PC and record radio shows, Round The Horne/Dads Army/Radio Active etc then burn them to CD.
Choagy FFCUK The SPL :)
another vote for the sony box. my old dears got one and it gives a better picture than my digital cable
