Help. DVDs created using a Philips DVDR 70 will not play on a Pionner DV-565A. Can Anyone help? I have tried different brands of blank DVDs and they work on other machines perfectly just not this Pioneer model.

Have you finalized the DVD+R first?

Have to say although I`ve just lost my DVDR70, I used cheap disc`s (around 32p a disc) and they worked on every played they were put in. I don`t know if one went in that model, but I have had a few disc`s that have done the rounds and been in quite a few players.

I gonna kill that firefox spellchecker, and enjoy doing it.

Bog off Foggy
Ok, I admit it, I HAD a Philips DVDR70

Hello!
I have a Pioneer 565A and a Philips 880 and 610 DVD recorders.

I`m afraid that the 565A does not like DVD+R or DVD+RW disks!

You will get "no disc" when you try to play DVD+ disks

Disks made on my 2 Philips recorders play perfectly well on my other dvd players, but not on this Pioneer, which I bought mainly for the SACD/DVD Audio capability. It`s a pity
because it plays practically any other disk you can throw at it and its a very good
machine.
I think because Pioneer are a champion of the DVD-R format, they engineered it
not to play the + format, but that`s just my opinion.

DVD-R`s play on 93% of all dvd player, DVD+R`s play on 89% of all dvd players thats according to vcdhelp, true or not I dont know but its worth trying the - format.

About now im having amnesia and deja vu. I think Ive forgotten this before :D

I`ve just played a +R and +RW (both burned using a PC burner) on my 565A, no problem.
