Page 1 of Lodos HT-100x DVD Home Cinema package in Sainsburys > any good??

hello, does anyone know much about these? cant find much on the net. the tv`s seem to get good reviews but not sure on this.

dvd player with 5.1 surround sound and speakers, currently about £80 in sainsburys, says reduced from about £160.

i just bought one to replace a mico siglo t120 from sainsbury`s seeing as it wouldn`t play half my dvd`s and kept crashing all the time. for playing dvd`s it seems a hell of a lot better, however, i paid £25 extra for a dvd player of the same class, and all i got was 30W extra power and 8 rubbish movies on two dvd`s.

other bad things is that the dvd player is BLOODY HUGE and that the central speaker has no way of standing it on it`s side. the speakers also have no screwthread attachments so if you have speaker stands, you`ll have to use the keyshaped hole instead. the subwoofer is much smaller than with my old system.

anyway, each of the speakers are 15W/4ohms and the subwoofer is 25W/8ohms

overall, i`d sooner have the mico back if only it could play my dvd`s properly.

I see the Lodos HT100X package has been reduced to £59.99 at the Taplow Sainsburys (near Maidenhead, Berks).. :)

I know this may be a long shot but does it have an optical input? I was thinking of getting a cheap system, not just for movies, but for hooking up my xbox to.

Nope, digital (optical and coax) out only I`m afraid.

A friend of mine does have his Xbox running into it (via the scart or AV inputs - I can`t recall which) and it does surround sound but I think it may be doing that via its "matrix" audio mode which is pseudo-surround from a stereo input.

That`s a shame but I suppose to be expected at that price. Many thanks for the response.
