RE: SONIX 26" LCD Panel for £499 at Sainsburys

Thanks for the feedback.

What really struck me when I saw it had DVI was that it`d go really nicely with a Mac mini (as those Apple displays, while very sexy, are hideously expensive!).

Now, does it go in the living room, or the bedroom. Decisions decisions...

BTW, does anyone know if Sainsburys has any kind of dead-pixel policy?

RE: SONIX 26" LCD Panel for £499 at Sainsburys

I had a good look at one of these this morning and was well impressed with the variety of inputs, 2 scarts (AV1, AV2), 15pin sub-D VGA, DVI(!!), component, 3.5mm stereo "pc audio in" and if memory serves correctly composite and S-video (not 100% about that, it was very early this morning :-) ).

I was really impressed with the picture quality and thought for a sec "That`s an X-black screen." I wouldn`t swear to that, but it was good enough to get the initial reaction. It was hooked up to a Humax DVB decoder and the output was pretty good. I was seriously tempted to get one, but the only unit I could see was the display one :-(

I`ll be keeping an eye on their stock now tho`!

RE: Lodos HT-100x DVD Home Cinema package in Sainsburys > any good??

Nope, digital (optical and coax) out only I`m afraid.

A friend of mine does have his Xbox running into it (via the scart or AV inputs - I can`t recall which) and it does surround sound but I think it may be doing that via its "matrix" audio mode which is pseudo-surround from a stereo input.

RE: Another Sainsburys Lodos bargain DVD Home Cinema

That`ll be the HT100X - it`s just been reduced to £59.99!

I`ve got one of these and they pretty much rock - the only gripe I have is the the "10+" track button for selecting CD tracks higher than 9 (ie. tracks 10 - 20) doesn`t seem to work as per the manual.

Otherwise it`s really good - lots of inputs and outputs, nice sound and very nice picture quality.
