Page 1 of Where`s me thread gone! Anyway DVDRW .......

Finally got the answer why it would boot-up.........................................................................................................................the IDE cables were the wrong way round!!!

Anyway thanks for all your help folks.

I took the IDE cables out and re-seated them, checked the connection to the motherboard, trouble was that I put them back in in the same slots! I wouldnt have thought that would have mattered, but obviously it does.

Oh well. Live and learn

At least you put the power cables in the correct way round.

I knew a guy who managed to do that twice.
