2 into 1 scart block

Bowf (Elite) posted this on Thursday, 3rd May 2001, 12:19

Bought an LG3200 ( finally )
Have to get a 2 into 1 scart block so it, and my SKY, can both go into AV1. Don`t want one that has to be switched. I want one that switches automatically, but I want a good one.
Anyone recommend a national type outlet that does a good one ?. Don`t mind cost as long as it doesn`t compromise the picture or sound.
Cheers

Hi, I very much doubt whether it will switch automatically it rather depends on just how strong the signal is on SKY verses your machine.

What I can say is that I had a 3 to 1 bought from COMET about £19.99 if I remember correctly. This was not a switchable as such, but you still may have to turn off your SKY box to avoid conflicting signals and overlay which I got with my telewest box. I simply turned the telewest box off whilst watching a movie.

I din`t find it such a drag after all you can`t watch both at the same time!

At least I didn`t have to crawl behind the TV each time as you may have to with a switchable one.I guess thats all you need to avoid

Good Luck

was the picture still ok though, because my LG3200e through av1(rgb) is superb but cable digital through av2 is s***.

thanks

Thanks for the info Justin.
I assume there`s no such thing as ` overloading ` an AV1 input is there ?
As long as only the equipment you`re watching is on at any given time then the TV will only receive 1 signal I suppose ?
I note that the scart cable I got with the LG only has 20 pins, and not the full 21. Is this significant ?
Any probs with the LG I should watch out for ? I note the switch at the back for PAL/AUTO/NTSC is at auto. Should I leave it as such ?
So many questions....sorry.
