Poor Picture

I`ve got a brand new (4 days old), Thomson DTH 4000, which I believe is based on the Samsung 511.It`s connected to a Thomson 28" Widescreen TV. I`ve only got a few dvd`s , but i`ve noticed a massive difference in the picture quality of some of them. For instance i`ve got Disney`s Toy Story 2, Bugs Life & Tarzan (R1), all of these have unbelievable picture quality. However I also have Road Trip (R1) & Saving Private Ryan (R2), anb both look grainy. I`ve tried swapping scart leads to no avail. It`s connected to the tv via RGB scart. Anyone any ideas ?.

I don`t know about Road Trip, but Saving Private Ryan was made to look like that. They removed a lot of the colour before the film was released to give it an authentic feel, thats why it probably seems grainy.

The Toy Story and Bugs Life DVD`s were taken straight from a digital image rather than the celluloid film giving them a better picture quality. This could be the reason.
