Following on from the thread with sub woofer problems on SONY HTDDW750. Can anyone recommend a good replacement sub woofer that is in the £150 ish price bracket? :/

Er...Cue Westy me thinks. I don`t have much knowlage of sub £300 subs. Sorry.

Yamaha do one called YST-SW015 at around £130 and it`s not bad but then I have not compearedit to others at the price point.

All the best,

The 42%er.

It`s not easy being different. It`s not easy being cool....but somehow I manage....

Heres a few links that cover various makes and prices:-

Avland

Superfi

Unbeatable

Richer Sounds

Hifibitz

You can find user reviews of lots of subwoofers here, but as it is largely American based you may not find all makes/models listed although it does list most of the Yamaha models which are quite possibly the safest bet in the £100-£150 market.

Thanks for the info and links. I`ll have to try to get out to a hifi shop and listen to a few. Looks like the Yamaha and the Mission models may fit the bill.

Thanks

When I was looking for mine I thought of Yamaha but was told by a few that they wern`t to clever.

Ended up getting an ex dem b&w from audio excellence in Cardiff for £200, really pleased with it. Can also recomend Mission.

All the best

Ger.
