Cheap Car CD/MP3 Player anyone?

puthsardarade (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 8th June 2004, 06:10

Hi,

Does anyone know where I could pick up a cheap Car CD/MP3 Player. I`m looking at paying upto £90 inc P&P and I would like it to be either a Sony, Kenwood, Pioneer or Alpine.

Cheers,

G

Not sure whether that Kenwood model does MP3 - looks like a bargain buy though.

EDIT - Forgot to say that these guys look like they have some good prices: http://www.bassjunkies.com

It doesn`t do MP3.
Aldi was doing a MP3 CD Player/Tuner for £60 not long ago.
The make was unknown though but people gave it good reports after buying

I can`t comment on it because don`t actually own it - tho, been thinking about buying it. If you decide to get one, any feedback/info would be apprecaited! :p

Its not one of the brands listed, but Maplins do a Shark one which is really nice. I got one at 80 quid (less 7 quid in vouchers) and last time I looked it was down to 70 quid. The item code is L71AH .

I was going to mention the Shark one at Maplins too. It`s back on special for £70 (normally £150). I got mine at Xmas for £70 when it was on special then. It`s great, the only way I could fault it, is the screen can be hard to see in bright sunlight (depends how shaded it is in your car). But on a night it gives a nice multi coloured display. I have one CD with 15 albums on it in mp3 format...who needs a multi-changer...lol :)

If you put the songs into folders on the CD, they show as albums on the player, so you can just play one album if you want, instead of having to go through all the songs to find what you want. It will also search by name etc, although not while you`re driving obviously...lol :)

The flip down front is a nice feature too, and it has a blinking led when the front is off, to deter thieves.

Mark. :)
