I have this and have to agree that its the biggest pile of poo.

Why?
Mainly poor sound, unstable mechanism, can`t play cd-rw too well, can`t play anything too well.

The only thing that`s ok are the headphones which look cheap and nasty but sound ok, better than my panasonic ones (but only if you plug them into something else.)

He`s right - avoid this one.

I have owned a NAPA for several months now and find it to be of good quality. When put throgh the AUX on my stereo it sounds fine. I don`t use it as a VCD player because I have a DVD and you can`t get VCDs easily anyway, I purchased one online just to test it out (Battlefield Earth a very funny film). Any problems you are having with sound quality is more likely to be your MP3 creation or your stereo not the player. I don`t use CDR-Ws because CDRs are so cheap. I have so far managed to get 160 tracks on one CD with no playback problems. But a word of warning, make sure that the MP3s are coded at 96kps and above otherwise the NAPA can`t read tham.My only complaint would be the crap remote control. Anyway what do you expect for under £100 and compare it to your very very limited (with expensive storage costs) MP3 players like the Rio etc.

Forget the NAPA. Get the Phillips Expanium. A friend said he sold the NAPA `cause it skips like mad but the phillips is supposed to be great.

I`m sure you will Boris! Since anyone who thinks the Himage is great will probably think this is the best MP3 player available! ;-)
