reccomend a cheap DVD player with rear sockets to connect speakers directly?
hi,, im trying to find out if any of the supermarket DVD players that can be made multi region easily has any sockets for directly connecting speakers to the DVD player...is sumthin like 6 sockets in the back of the DVD..... i checke the pacific 1001 and no joy there..... anyone know of another similer? thnx for any help :)

Even the ones with 6 sockets need to go to some form of amplification. A bit of a redundant feature I think....just use co-ax.

The only compatible hardware is an all-in-one DVD/amplifier/speaker package - no standalone DVD player on this earth is capable of outputting an amplified signal to speakers without, as the previous poster says, some form of amplification.
The M5 most certainly does not have speaker outputs, it has analogue audio output sockets which, when hooked up via phono-phono leads to a suitably-equipped amplifier, send decoded audio signals to the amp, for that to send out the signals to the speakers (I know a thing or two about the M5, so am not bs-ing here !).
Again, as the person above states, it may also be possible to hook up a standalone DVD player via the coaxial or digital audio route to a suitably equipped powered subwoofer/speaker package.
The other option is to get the Sony player part sent off and modified. Why don`t folks research whether DVD players are hackable before buying them ? Serves your boss right ;)

i assume his speakers he uses has their own amp maybe..... tbh hes a complete *&^% and icouldent be arsed to help him even if he paid me... but.. i did say i would look into it... and i have.. :) i can only imagine he means he needs a dvd similer to the m5... and he has a little speaker package with its own litle amp to power em...... so working on this possibility.... does anyone know of a cheap dvd player with analouge audio output sockets on the back :)
