Argos selling a Macrovision remover?
I was looking through the new argos catalogue. when i saw this.
page 549
item 32
I quote
Scart video Unit
Allows connection of 3 pieces of hardware to a single scart socket. Also allows recording from a DVD or second VCR to your main VCR.
Somebody get one and see if it works. I would buy one but my player has it already removed.
RE: Argos selling a Macrovision remover?
Whats the cost. ?
Previous macrovision removal boxes I have seen have been priced between £40 to £60...
Does it have colour, brightness and sharpness controls on it ?
This seems a common feature on Macrovision removal boxes.
If it can record DVD to VHS.. then it can probably record Sky digital box office to VHS... anybody heard about sky digital hack... I`ve heard rumours its cracked... Via firmware upgrade, or chippped..
RE: Argos selling a Macrovision remover?
Sorry Boris, I have owned one of these and no, it does NOT remove macrovision.
The unit istelf is ok, it did the job I wanted it to do, that is allow me to connect all my units to the tv without the need to continually switch scarts.
However, I took it back for a refund when I realised that the RGB button on the unit did not actually allow the RGB signal from my dvd player through.....just got sound and no picture. Can`t be doin with that now can we mate.
RE: Argos selling a Macrovision remover?
£9.99

Hi,
I was thinking about buying one of those scart units this week but after reading about your experience with one,I don`t think I will bother now.
I was getting fed up with taking scarts in and out all the time as I have my playstation connected by scart into my tv .
I thought it sounded ok and with the added bonus of being able to record from your dvd,but after reading what you had to say about it I don`t think I will get one now.
What use is the sound but with no picture?
Thanks for your info.
