RE: The Watcher.

I watched it last night on R1 DVD. I quite enjoyed it actually, ok it`s not the greatest film you`ll ever see, but I certainly wouldn`t put anyone off watching it.
I like to make up my own mind about a film, if I like the look of it I watch.....sod what the "experts" say.

RE: Argos selling a Macrovision remover?

Sorry Boris, I have owned one of these and no, it does NOT remove macrovision.
The unit istelf is ok, it did the job I wanted it to do, that is allow me to connect all my units to the tv without the need to continually switch scarts.
However, I took it back for a refund when I realised that the RGB button on the unit did not actually allow the RGB signal from my dvd player through.....just got sound and no picture. Can`t be doin with that now can we mate.

RE: aiwa xd-dv370

I rang the Aiwa customer service desk yesterday, on another matter, and asked about the availablity of the DV370 whilst I was on. Apparently, there is no stock left anywhere (we all knew that) but they are expecting shipment soon....I think he may have said next month.
When I bought mine, late December, there was no mention of the machine on any Aiwa website. The fact that it is now, and that they show a black one, suggests that they will still be selling them. I guess you`ll just have to be a little patient.

RE: !NEW! MATSUI DVD 110 VCD HACK !NEW!

Thanks for the advice, I will pass it on to my brother who owns one of these machines.
Will this enable viewing of VCD`s on CDR?
I know the machine doesn`t recognise CDR`s usually, but I thought I`d ask the question.

RE: AIWA 370, What Hi-Fi Feb 2001

Yes, I noticed that review, along with a similarly poor review in Total DVD I think. I agree that the best reviews come from the users of the machine, and I`m over the moon with mine.
I bought the Alba 103 on the strength of a review, I think I owned it for a total of 13 hours before I got a refund.....nuff said.
My Samsung 511 went back for a refund after 2 weeks.

The Aiwa 370 is the muts nuts..!!

RE: Open and shut case of the Awia 370

I have the same problem/fault with my Aiwa Phil. It`s never caused me a problem as such though. It seems to be an intermittent fault, occasionally happening when switching on from cold. As I say, not all the time though.
Never had a moments trouble with it though....bought it about 3 weeks ago.
I play many cdr vcd`s on it and they all work fine and Matrix played like a dream.
All in all I`m well chuffed. Just waiting on the macro hack now.

VCR Copies

Someone said recently on one of these forums (I think it was Jimbo) that Ferguson VCR`s allow copies to be made as the Macrovision signal does not cause them a problem.

Firstly, is this all Ferguson vcr`s or just some of them?

Does anyone know which ones, and if there are any other brands that allow copying?

Many thanks

Yet Another Satisfied Aiwa DV370 New Owner

Thanks to all that have sang the praises of this machine...especially Jimbo me old mucka.....I managed to get the last one in the local Comet store.....and I can categorically state that yes, it does indeed `officially rock..!!!`

Had a bit of trouble with the Region Hack at first, but it worked first time when I ignored pressing the `enter` key after the `pause` button. I watched Nutty Professor II (reg. 1) last night....top..!!

I phoned another store to obtain a price for this machine, they don`t actually stock it but the guy said he`d speak to his Aiwa supplier and phone me back with a price. Get this....when he phoned back he was interested to know where I had seen this machine because his Aiwa supplier told him it wouldn`t be available until May..!!!!! I did ask him for a black one, so maybe they are launching a black version in May.....any ideas on this anyone?

I just wait in joyful hope now, for the arrival of the Macrovision Disabling method....I`m sure someone will fathom it soon.
