Dream Set Up

kiff (Competent) posted this on Monday, 29th December 2003, 00:32

So then the Xmas Sales are on us,

If you had the money to spend in them!! What would your dream set up be? :)

I.e. Denon DVD, KEF speakers, 42" Plasma, Denon Amp etc etc

Think Big, you might even want to knock down a wall to make your own cinema. ;)

If I had the cash it would be:

Sim2 HT300 Projector with Motorised Screen, infront of recessed 42" Pioneer PDP-434HDE Plasma (for general viewing)
Teac DV-50 Universal DVD Player
Pioneer VSA-AX10 Surround Amplifier
Kef Q7AV Speaker Package but with 2 Rel Quake Subs
All the necessary interconnects and Hi-spec Speaker cable recessed into the walls
A dedicated Mains Spur
4 Laz-y-boy Leather Armchairs
4 Crates of Duvel beer (8% :D )
1 copy of the Extended Editions of LOTR: FOTR, TTT & ROTK

Shame is I`ve got to wait for ROTK!!!!!....and a lottery win :(

I reckon that lot will cost about £27,035

:D

Not Bad, I take it you have thought about this once or twice!?!?!?! :)

I bet there are a lot of options thought, some of the sale stuff is C**p but others well.

My father wanted a new set up so he found all the sales prices Online, walked into the shop said "what can you do it for" they matched it there an then + cables inc.

Git, wish I had his money, I bought him his first DVD player for Xmas 3 years ago, now he has a better set up than me. That`s not right!!!!

Better get on the phone to the home ala John Smiths ad!!!

Oooooh yes I have, although the only things on the list that I currently have are LOTR: FOTR and TTT :(

That lottery win better come soon otherwise I`m gonna write to Lotto and complain >:(

Mind you if there is anyone out there that wants to donate some of the equipment above to me (for publicity or something i.e. Article in The Mail..."Pioneer shows generous edge by giving hard-up DVD fan his dream") then just post here and we can start a dialogue :D :D :D :D :D

I`d have liked my Dad to have been able to see the delight on his Grandson`s face as he watches LOTR.

As a child, i never had a teddy to take to bed - i had a pair of Wharfedale Diamonds to cuddle up to, and it all started from there.

I forgot to mention, obviously with a big lottery win, the main system wouldn`t be enough, so i`d have the following in my `living` room ;)

Pioneer HDMI 43" Plasma
Pioneer 868AVi-S HDMI equipped DVD player
Yamaha DSP-AZ9 Multichannel Amp, (kicks the Pio AX10i into the weeds)
Sky Digital +
Panasonic E50 DVD Recorder
Acoustic Energy EVO 3 Front Speakers
Acoustic Energy EVO 1 (just one for centre speaker duties, sounds much better than the EVO Centre) Centre Speaker
Kef Q2DS Surrounds X4 for left/right surround and Centre Rear duties
Two B+W ASW750 Subwoofers
Qed Silver Anniversary Bi Wire Speaker cable all round
B Tech Ribbon Scarts, (why on earth people spend mega bucks on other scarts when these are just as good - if not better - i`ll never know), for use from Sky Box and Panasonic DVDR
No need for digital cables and component leads as The Pioneers DVD and Plasma are linked by Firewire and HDMi, quality!!

Oh, and a LaZBoy chair as well ;)

Aha, but you are all forgetting something. Most (all) of you would need a huge detached house with a huge self contained cinema room. Well, I know I would.
