davs300 and ntsc playback??

sony boy (Harmless) posted this on Monday, 15th December 2003, 23:34

Hi all, does anyone know how to force the davs300 to output an NTSC signal as a PAL signal, is it possible?
Its a multi-region player but my tv only plays in black and white (but stable) and i have to use an NTSC to PAL converter box to watch R1 films which is a pain as i have to keep swapping leads arround to watch diffrerent films!!

Cheers.

No, I don`t think it is possible, I`ve got a chipped DAVS300 mine works fine `cos my telly
auto detects PAL/NTSC.
Then again I may be wrong, why don`t you contact the place you had it from to see
if they can shed any light on the subject.

Just a thought.. check your tv`s setup page, you may be able to force it to accept
an NTSC signal from there, mine displays an option to choose between PAL, 3.something & 4.something NTSC and then AUTO.

Alternatively try using RGB if the DAVS300 and TV support it.

Thanks for all the input, my tv doesnt have any selection for pal/ntsc and i fitted the chip myself and i cant remember where the chip came from???

Another problem is my tv doesnt have SVHS either!!!
Looks like it time for a new TV as i love the player more than the TV!!!

Cheers.
