sharonB (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Saturday, 29th November 2003, 17:25

We got a new DVD player today and when we set it up like our old one scart socket on DVD player to Scart socket on TV we couldnt get the sound properly ! we had the background music but nothing when anyone talked just the music playing .

we used exactly the same scart lead as we are using now but it wouldnt go right!

We dont know much about DVD players (give me a computer anyday)so does anyone know why it wouldnt work , I just though if you conected scart to scart it would all work ok .

HELP!

Which dvd player do you have?

You may need to alter something in its settings...

Sounds like the audio output is set to 5.1 or similar.

Set a DVD playing and use `setup` button then Audio and change the output setting to stereo, if your options are not the same as I`ve uggested then select each in turn untill you get the correct one
