kynop (Harmless) posted this on Saturday, 3rd February 2001, 20:14

Hello I am new to DVD players and I really need one so I need some suggestions from the experts.

I don`t need a great one just a good one that plays cd/dvd . Region free would also be nice
I have a 25 inch t.v.

I saw a couple on best buy but I don`t know how they rate:

http://www.bestbuy.com/Detail.asp?m=1&cat=32&scat=244&e=11030463 ( I like the 3 cd changer) $179

http://www.bestbuy.com/Detail.asp?m=1&cat=32&scat=244&e=11030464 ($169)

Under $200 is what I am looking for. Good sound quality is also important b/c I will use it for cd`s

thankz

P.S. the dvd players I listed are just exampls any suggestion is welcomed and also I am willing to spend more than $200 I would just perfer not too.

I would appreciate your comments

Sorry mate, i`m not good with US DVD players etc. Anything we suggested would really be just guess work as most people on the forum are from the UK, this means that we have not seen the DVD players being played in the US format. We use a Scart system which i dont belive you use because it is European. Also you are likely to be able to get much more useful information from an American web site because you (i should expect) will have much more of a range of players and makes than us :o( -There may also be some variation in player specifications in the two countries.

Anyway if anyone can help im sure they will, just letting you know not to base you final decision on what people say coz it may be different over there :o)

Keep well,

Max Knight
