New TV

Big P22 (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Monday, 27th October 2003, 07:23

I am looking to buy a widescreen TV for my bedroom so 28" will be fine. I want a flatscreen CRT. Any suggestions on what I should go for.

Cheers,
Paul

I have decided that I am going to spend more on the TV, may as well get something I am happy with. No specific budget (although no more than £600).

I want a 28" Pure Flatscreen 100Hz. What would you recommend and where from? Saw the Panasonic TX28PS12C for £500 at a fe online retailers. Any thoughts on this?

Cheers,
Paul

I recently bought the TX28PS12 and I am extremely pleased with it. I bought it online at comet.co.uk as it was about £520 at the time (I think it`s about £510 now).
The picture quality is brilliant for a tv in that price range and I don`t think I`ll ever regret moving up to 100Hz.

I also bought the SC-MT1 DVD player which is also very good, excellent all round colour and the picture is pin sharp. However, I had to fiddle about with the colour and brightness quite a lot because there were two vertical bands where the picture was slightly lighter. I have it set up now so that it`s only noticeable on a very dark, almost black picture.

Overall I am very pleased that I`ve got an excellent home cinema system for under £900.
