Richer Sounds have some TE118 machines - has anyone ever heard of them ? Do you know what they will play (-r, +r), are they multi-region etc. They are about £50 I think but I don`t know if they are worth a try. Any help appreciated.

RE: Anyone heard on TEDELEX
Thanks Bobby S - I opted for the pacific 1002w from Asda in the end as they didn`t have the 1001 in stock. The 1002W is good - it is multiregion from the box and plays -R which were my main requirements.
8) I Bought one today and can confirm it plays everything i have thrown at it (8 types of +r, 2 types of +RW, 5 types of -R, 2 types of -RW, CDDA, MP3, Picture CD, origional DVD, and a disk witha mixture of mp3`s and jpg`s), Also these range from expensive disks (sony & Philips) to dirt cheap disks (Silver Top & Bulkpaq).....
8) It`s fantastic.....
8) Picture quality is easily a 8/10 and i`m not easily pleased.....
8) Sound quality is around a 7/10, this is because on one of my DVD`s there was a very slight echo (hardly noticeable, and could have been my DVD), however on my queen DVD it was perfectly acceptable.....
8) Connections include CAPTIVE POWER CABLE, SCART, S-VIDEO, COMPOSITE VIDEO, COMPONENT VIDEO, OPTICAL AUDIO, COAXIAL AUDIO, L/R STEREO AUDIO.....
8) An LCD would be nice though
8) Overall an 8/10 easily
Hope This Helps Someone

Martin
I see it also plays VCDs.
Is it Multi-region out of the box, or can it be remote hacked?
Regards
Tarzan
Its multi region right out.
Pros:
Plays all formats :DVD,VCD,Mp3,Audio.
Built in Dolby Decoder
features component output and progressive scan.
cons
No display ,not even an LED for indicating on/off
flimsy feeling.
badly designed remote.
hope this helps
Hi Spinlow,
Was your tedelex TE-118. Mine is but is not multi region. Were you able to get into the Preferences, if so what was the password.
Any help is most appreciated.
Cheers,
Try using 1111 as the password. It`s not what it says in the manual but it worked for me.
I`ve now had a chance to test this and can confirm the following as working region code hack (NB - The passcode printed in the manual is wrong. The real passcode is 8806)
To change the region code: -
1) Press SETUP
2) Move to the PREFERENCE menu
3) Press buttons 8 8 0 6
4) This should bring up a new REGION menu
5) Use the UP / DOWN buttons to change the region
6) Once the correct region has been selected press ENTER
7) Play your disk!
Now if someone could please let me know how get this DVD player to display the file names of MP3 files on a data CD I`ll be a happy man!
