AIWA 370, What Hi-Fi Feb 2001

I had a look at this review, what rubbish. Don`t believe it, the only thing they said which was correct, was that the CD player is good and it certainly is.

It was a small "thrown together" type review.

The best reviews come from the people who bought and use the item, wether it be a car or a pocket radio.
Most reviews aint worth a sh*t.

Thats all!

Aahhhh...ain`t it sad. That NASTY magazine said some horrid words about my DVD player.......altogether now :-

"Aaaaaahhhhh"

Q...I wonder if you would have panned the report if it said the 370 was the best DVD on the mkt under £500 ? mmmm....think about it.

Trouble (really) is, that the impartiality of your opinion (and from others) vanished to near zero the very second you handed over the cash for your toy ! (((What person normally invests money in an item and then agrees with a review that says it`s " no good" etc... ??)))

People are very easy to read ! - I happened to think the article was factually 100% correct.

Who is right ?
Who really cares ?
Which particular aspect of the DVD experience is enriched with the "my DVD is better than yours ? approach" ?

I didn`t know so many people were paid shareholders of Aiwa - they must be with the amount of promotion that this run-of-the-mill Japanese organisation is getting.

Yes, I noticed that review, along with a similarly poor review in Total DVD I think. I agree that the best reviews come from the users of the machine, and I`m over the moon with mine.
I bought the Alba 103 on the strength of a review, I think I owned it for a total of 13 hours before I got a refund.....nuff said.
My Samsung 511 went back for a refund after 2 weeks.

The Aiwa 370 is the muts nuts..!!

Agreed. And impartiality after paying?

Er...right here!!

I have purchased countless items, used countless, and sell countless every day!!
If you were ever a customer of mine, I would tell you honestly about a product.
(and there`s a copy of What HiFi in store for customer use..I used it to SELL a 3350 today FROM the 370 review!!..the customer knew the 370 and 3350 were the same machine in regard to the Mpeg decoder)

And his reaction to the "bad picture" comments int he review?

Simple..."Thanks Mate...i nearly bought that Sony!!"

the Sony by the way is over £100 more expensive!!

AIWA 370 (officially) ROCKS!!!!!!

What bugs me is that they drooled over the ARCAM CD player a few pages on saying that it was sooooo goood, what with its Burr Brown Delta-Sigma 24bit D/A converter. What they didn`t mention (or know) was that the Aiwa/LG also uses a Burr Brown Delta-Sigma 24bit D/A converter!!

Go figure - me, I think it is a case of `Emperor`s new clothes` with these `What HiFi` guys.

A few years ago a hi-fi mag put the equipment behind curtains and the results were not what they expected, and the reviewers were left with egg on their faces, just pointed out how much the badge played a part.

...but they`re right about the remote - it`s pants! But then it is my first dvd player - perhaps they`re all like that. Can`t be though, even Jimbo has criticised it!! Anyone got a spare 3350 RC?

Yeah for some reason - DVD remotes are crap! Don`t know why!

>Anyone got a spare 3350 RC?

Hmm, that`d be interesting, I wonder if it`d work?
