RE: AIWA 370, Factually accurate review from what Hi-Fi etc etc

...but they`re right about the remote - it`s pants! But then it is my first dvd player - perhaps they`re all like that. Can`t be though, even Jimbo has criticised it!! Anyone got a spare 3350 RC?

RE: Just bought an Aiwa 370.

I bought the last one in Thanet (that`s Ramsgate, Margate, Broadstairs area for the geographically impaired) from Comet for £149:99 last week. (There was a Tosh SD100E going for the same price.) So maybe worth a little bargaining if you see it for much more. Very pleased with the Aiwa, `cept the remote takes some getting used to (I wonder if the LG3350 one works with it?? Jimbo??)

RE: dabs.com & LG 3350e

Dropped into local Comet to buy some VCR tapes last night and spotted an Aiwa 370 and Toshiba SD100 available as ex-display sale items at £149 each!! What was it to be, best picture or Region 1 ability?? Occasional visits to the states and failing eyesight swayed me towards the 370 - got it home and so far so good. All ok except I had hoped a scart lead was included and it wasn`t, and the remote is a bit fiddly (but then so was the Tosh one). Cancelled my Dabs order and I`m a happy bunny!! I`ll let you know whether I agree with Jimbo later...

Meanwhile if someone in east kent wants a cheap Tosh SD100 it`s probably still on the shelf in Broadstairs Comet, but rush!

A very happy Ian :-)

RE: dabs.com & LG 3350e

Strange... sort of true, but the main lg dvd product page says 3-4 weeks, the info window (clicking the i button) shows 6 available in 1-3 days, 0 right now. Something`s getting a little out of sync here, Dabs.... what is it? Who knows what`s really happening?? Will this machine be obsolete by the time we get it? Will it arrive tomorrow and surprise me? I suspect not.

RE: dabs.com & LG 3350e

Just noticed the dabs site is quoting 3-4 weeks for delivery (was 1-2 days this morning!). Will we get lucky or not?????

RE: LG3350e vs Wharfedale 750S

I`m waiting - ordered on the 6th - then 3-4 days away, two days later 1-2 days away, great, then went back to 3-4 days, oh, but now stuck at 1-2 days away... but I`m sure it`ll get here eventually - just hope the wait is worth it! My first DVD player - it`s like waiting for a baby to arrive! Though not as messy I hope...

RE: AWIA 370 or LG 3350e ???

Hi All!

What a stonking forum! Just when I want to buy a DVD player I bump into this! Great, super, fantastic...

Having read as much of these messages as poss I`m settling for the LG3350, because it`s got great reviews here, but, more importantly, a funky remote - one that glows in the dark, which is how I watch films on TV. Neat. With a remot jog dial. Cool.

Think I`ll give dabs.com a visit (or can someone suggest a better place?).

Sorry, Jimbo - appreciate your enthusiasm for the Aiwa, and if I have trouble getting the LG I may try my local Comet for one - but that glowing remote, mmmm. Mind you switching off Macro would be neat. Where do you get the Techtronics version LG from? (£20 seems a bit cheap for a new processor and installation though - bet it`s a hack really...)

Thanks all.

Ian
