can anyone please recommend a multi region dvd player which is both well made an cheap ie: under £150.

plenty of them about at that price,just pick any dvd magazine from your newsagents or search the web and you will find what you are looking for david.I`ve a sony cost me £139 from a company called westgate,even plays the rce disks.good luck.

Hop down to your local 7Oaks Sound and Vision, and pick up a Tosh 220E. Great machine, in your budget. Has won all the awards, etc.
7Oaks may cost a bit more than the comptetition, but I`m told you can be sure of a good multiregion modification. Tosh has just come out with the 330E, might also be worth looking at.

I recently bought the Philips 733 which is ridiculously easy to `hack` multi region by making a few key presses on the remote and which cost me under £110.00 from Allders. Their slightly older model 634 is basically the same. They also play a good range of disks.
