norman , this might help, go into audio setup and see if your system has spdif setup page, if it has you will have to select spdif off , as the karaoke only works in an analog output .

MEDION 5.1 active sound system from aldi`s
Can anyone help , Does this system work on a dvd player ???
The son bought it for his dvd player which is a ds-6338b.
we have tried to set it up but cant get everything to work , we can get all the background sounds but when the we hear the talking it is all muffled , the son went out to buy some audio to audio cables to connect from the sub woofer to his dvd player as the medion system came without them , Is this system only compatible for a pc ???. his dvd player has got dolby digital , So any help or advice would be helpful on how to set it up if it is possible to use it for his dvd player .

You can get karaoke dvd`s from w h smiths but they are expensive , Or you can do has i did and and get then from www.bid-up.tv And they are good value too, I put a bid of £28 in and had 10 differant karaoke dvd`s which was delivered within 7 days , The 10 dvd`s on bid up are jailhouse rock , 70s, 60s, pop idol, 50s,80s, superstars, scotish, irish and nursery rhyme , The postage was £6.95 on top of the £28 so they worked out at £3-50 each , I saw the same dvd`s in ethel austins priced up at £7-99 each , I have tried them and they are very good , So if you want the same ones go to the bid up site and have a browse around wot they are auctioning for tomorrow , They normally have them dvd`s up every other day for auction.

i bought one of those that plays karaoke discs and it has 2 mic sockets on it , i had it delivered today so still trying to set it all up , i paid about 133eur,s for it from the e-bay auction and thats all in with delivery aswell, its a DS-6338B, but dont ask me who makes it , its multi-region plays dvd/vcd/svcd/cd/mp3/cd-r/cd-rw/kodak picture cd karaoke player. and it only took 6 days to come from germany. if u interested u will find it at the e-bay site under dvd, and look for the top slimline dvd player great functions new auction , its easy to pay for to with your credit card .
