Sub-£100 player - PLEASE kill my friend!
Having flirted briefly with the Wharfedale debacle, I am now made up with my Samsung 511. But my friend is short on spondoolicks, and has got me back here searching in vain for a sub-£100 player that doesn`t suck ass. Since their`s only one in existence that I can find (Himage 2290 - please, take it away!), and nobody can get hold of one anyway, I`ll give him the extra money myself if anyone can recommend a sub-£150 player that is semi-decent in performance, region hackable (not too worried about RCE) and gives an RGB signal via SCART. I know you don`t want to have to help me, so please, do it for my friend!

For 150 notes I would go for the Alba 103. Region free out of the box. RGB on the scart. I beleive it is cheapest at toysRus approx 140 notes.
Picture is good for the price (reading mag reviews)

Give him another £17 and buy a Samsung 511 from Asda @ £167
RE: Sub-£100 player - PLEASE kill my friend!
Horridtron 6000 rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Down with Scan.....
It may look like it`s been hewn from a solid lump of the cheapest plastic by a blind 1 year old with a chainsaw, but I`m sure for £139 it`s as good as any Sony you`d care to mention.

Hi I wouldn`t kill my friend if I were you, I would kick myself for not buying one of these new DVD players. I have got a DVD I can recommend. I bought a Minato G1 DVD from Tesco and its got to be the best thing since my new Golf Convertible. I mean I puchased a DVD 750 last year fom Tesco and am really happy with it. Today while walking around my local store (which I popped in to buy some sandwiches) I noticed a brown box marked` DVD G1` so I purchased it. I was actually going to give it to my sister as a birthday present(her birthday being today) but having watched Heat on it tonight I think I will keep it and give the sister the DVD 750. At £129.99 you have got to give it a try.
If I were a reviewer it would be 5***** fantastic -
Rush to Tesco as there were only a few on the shelf.
