VCD Playback on AIWA 370

I`ve made a couple of VCDs using NERO burned on to CDR. When I play them on my DVD player every so often the picture stutters and so does the sound. Its as if the player is struggling to read the CD. I`ve tried burning at 1x and I have tried using differnt brands of CDR such as Verbatim Samsung and Delta with the same results. Any suggestions??? The CDs and the original MPG play perfectly on my PC

Hello,
A good place to start...........
Sounds like u got some buffer under-runs on the copy of the disks u have made. (This is where the PC is inturrupted when writing the CD making it STOP then START recording, many people leave their PC`s to make a cup of tea and the PC goes into powersaving mode killing the copy)
A FEW HINTS HERE!
**Try these...**

*When buring CD`s make sire that nothing is running in the background.

*Turn off the screen saver.

*Defrag you PC before hand, esp. if copying to hard drive first. This will make the PC run faster and give it a clear area to put information in.

*Keep copying at 1x. It may take ages but the quality will be better and you are less likely to get buffer under-runs.

*Switch off the darn power saving mode, it doesnt save power just kills you hard work.

*Anti Virus, say bye-bye when copying CD`s.

*Keep the kids away from the keyboard and mouse, the PC needs memory to copy CD`s and the keyboard and mouse are enough to annoy the copying process.

*Check you PC has no disk errors using scan disk (no reason just makes me seem a little more clever....no??......oh well.)

Hope this is the problem, u dont wanna hardware problem with the ellusive Aiwa 370.

I`ve got some old VCDs that I copied from a mate that I burned at 4x and they play perfectly. Is it NERO? Should I use CD Creator (although it seems more complicated). Surely if the problem was a buffer underrun then the CD would not work at all?

does it matter that my VCD is one file that lasts 60 minutes? I`ve noticed that some others that play back fine are less than this, such as 30 or 40 mins
