Matsui DVD 110 exchange!!

slugger590 (Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 3rd January 2001, 23:38

Just wondering if other owners have experienced loading problems with ``Saving private Ryan` and `Apocalypse Now`? Machine spun discs but then just stopped and refused to play them.

Returned player to Curry`s who phoned their helpline who reported a player fault. As machine was still in warranty (10 months old) I was allowed to pick up a new machine or get my money back, though I had to argue a bit. I went for the cash and am now starting the long trek to try and find an Aiwa.

So swap `em soon.
Keep up the good work

Do a search on the forums, this player has had trouble with a few disks.

But a friend has one and most of his disks are region 1 and they played fine, also it had no trouble with R2 Gladiator disk 2.

I haven`t seen the picture quality so I can`t comment.

But as you have returned it I would go for the AIWA.

I had a wharfedale 750s, returned it, and a AIWA is being delivered on friday

I had a Matsui it was a nightmare. jerky sound jerky picture a vast amount of loading problems. You were lucky the bastards at Currys wouldn`t let me change it. Bloke just stuck a copy of the matrix in and said "see s`alright". They offered to take it away into the mastercare netherworld of no return. I just gave up and bought a Wharfdale which at the time was considerd pretty good. Times have changed and I can`t afford another. Oh WOE is ME!
