Can anyone suggest a good av reviever that will decode Dolby digital/Dts - including model number as well please???

How much wonga are you looking to fork out, matey ?
And when you say receiver, are you wanting an RDS receiver built in as well (i.e. radio) or are you not bothered ? (Sorry to be pedantic - this is the only difference between a home cinema amp and a home cinema receiver, but it can add 50 beer vouchers to the cost)

Just bought a Denon Avr 1601 from empire direct for £227 (rrp £300), seems pretty good for a budget machine and gets good reviews from what hifi.

The Pioneer (potential price £219) just won a multi-test at the £300 rrp
See also the Yamaha 596 - I think it`s the sister of the "wonder" A5 (unobtainable at the moment by all accounts....)
No connection to any manufacturer....just p*ssed off waiting for my Yamaha E800 to turn up and researching options like mad!

Denon is highly regarded as a supplier of home cinema amps - that is certainly a deal worth pursuing.The 1601 has 60 watts per channel and comes with a receiver.
The Yamaha RXV596RDS is indeed the `receiver` version of the wonderful A5 (I can assure you this is an EXCEPTIONAL budget amp, having had one for well over 6 moths now), so will be 70 watts per channel, and loads of DSP options (digital sound processing - e.g. SPECTACLE, SCI FI etc etc).
However, I`m sure I`ve read somewhere recently that let`s buy it, certainly in Europe, are in danger of folding - I pray I`ve got that wrong for all the people involved in co-buys that have yet to be delivered, Europe-wide.

I have the Pioneer receiver that letsbuyit are selling and i am very happy with it, its got a respectable 5x80w output and a nice chunky learning remote so in theory you can program all your current remotes into the one unit. I would definitely recommend it especially at the best price of £219.
