Since changing my main TV recently the TV Link Magic Eye to the old set upstairs is working intermittently or not at all. The nice people at TV Link sent me a replacement which I managed to get working but I tried it today and I can no longer change Sky channel upstairs. Anyone have any ideas on the problem. I`ve followed all the troubleshooting tips TV link gave me to no avail. Strange that it worked OK then gave up the ghost..
I`ve read on these forums that you can change the rf frequency in the setup menu (as well as turning rf2 on and off). Is this something I should try playing around with?

Mine`s stopped working too. If you haven`t turned the rf2 setting off then it won`t be that. Don`t know about the frequency thing. Can watch tele upstairs but not change channel yeah?

RE: Sky TV Link Magic Eye Problems
Hi
1/ Does the little red light [ led ] light up on the unit?
2/ Have a look at the pin size of the plug you have put in from the sat box down stairs is it making a good contact?[The bloke next door had that problem as his would not work but it worked fine on my set up.[ Mine had a larger size plug pin.
3/You can test the unit down stair just plug it in the socket and have the sensor behind the tv set and use the remote and see if that works.

replace both conections at both side and ensure that the coax barrel used is firmley on to rf outlet 2, after doing that de - activate the rf 2 power in the installer setup menu, reset the stb at the mains ( unplug for 2 mins and the reboot ), once rebooted re-activate the rf 2 power and save settings, try the tv link again, also make sure that the cable used has no joints or splits in it. 1 other thing, your digibox isn`t a grundig by any chance, the new gds3000 are ok but the younger models had a few problems where as they would light the led up and work for so long but then fail but the led would still show on? all the best ,
Thanks Folks. Will give these tips a try. It`s a Pace Digibox which is getting a bit Flakey these days.
Greg
have you tried a forced software download and in what way is the box getting flakey?
RE: Sky TV Link Magic Eye Problems
I helped a relative with the same problem - I took the plastic & metal case to bits on the small link box (with the led on) & found the centre pin on the tv side had a dry joint so it wobbled around-only very slightly but I re-soldered it & it`s fine now. Maybe worth a look
