If youre dvd player only outputs ntsc as ntsc then you will need an ntsc compatible tv but if youre dvd player outputs ntsc as pal 60 then you wont need an ntsc compatible tv

i`ve just bought a laserdisc player that plays both pal + ntsc, but the tv i`ve got it hooked up to plays NTSC in B&W, so can anyone recommend a NTSC to Pal Converter.

Lektropacks (http://www.lektropacks.co.uk) do a suitable converter for around £50. Only the colour part of the signal needs to be converted, so an analogue converter will suffice - you don`t need an expensive digital converter.

Are you sure your player can`t be made to output PAL-60 from NTSC LDs, though? I know that the later Pioneer models were capable of this.

it`s a Pioneer CLD-1450 made back in 1990.

theres a few on ebay for £15 that look like they`d work.
