Connecting with a lack of scarts
Hi, Help!
I have a tv with 2 scarts. Both are used by a vidio recorder and a sky satelite box. I am trying to connect my new DVD player (Toshiba SD220e )
I have bought a 3 way scart splitter box. This is an auto switching box, so when one is on the other is off.
How can i connect this setup so i can record with the vidio. At the moment, when the vidio is switched on to record sky, the picture is not watchable.I presume this is because 2 devices are switched on at once. How can i get over this?
Any help would be gratfully receved.
Cheers
Guy
RE: Connecting with a lack of scarts
i would put your digibox and vcr on the same scart i.e scart 1, from digibox scart to t.v then from digibox decoder/ av to vcr input/output scart. then you have a spare scart on tv. use that for dvd.if you want to record from dvd to vcr. then it is more difficult. i have a switching box but you have to carefull has some are not compatible with rgb. when using a switching box make sure that either the digibox or the dvd is on standby. otherwise you will have no picture from one of the devices. i have a scart with a built in macovision buster to my dvd/ and digibox, so i can copy dvd`s and sky box office and it all works ok.
RE: Connecting with a lack of scarts
Feed your Skybox through your video then into TV with scarts, this gives a loop through when the video is off, this also allows recording of Sky and playing back off video.
Remaining scart direct from DVD.
RE: Connecting with a lack of scarts
Sorry, im being thick here. Please explain again.
I have AV1 on the tv connected to the splitter
I have vidio av 1 into the splitter
I have vidio av 2 into vcr on the sky box
i have sky tv into the splitter
DVD into av 2 on the tv.
Can i do without the splitter as this darkens the picture and gives me the problem of recording.
If not how do i connect.
Thanks for your patience guys

RE: Connecting with a lack of scarts
I`ve only got 2 scarts on my TV and don`t use a splitter.
DVD is fed directly to AV1 on TV.
Sky box is fed into Video input and Video output fed into TVs AV2.
When video is on standby you get a direct loopthrough to your TV from Sky box. When video is on you obviously get the ability to record from Sky.
Hope this helps.
