I recently purchased Thomson DTH-5000. I recoded it to play multi region. Recently when playing some Inspector Morse Region 2 DVDs I started to get picture issues. The frame would freeze for a second or two, sometimes longer. It looked like the disc couldn`t be read properly especially as the counter on the front of the DVD player paused too. This happened with several DVDs. As a result I exchanged the machine, this time for a Thomson DTH-210. I am still having the same problem, again with a different DVD. Has anyone encountered this before?

Is this all the time or now and again? If it`s now and again its a layer change.

I thought that was due to dirt or smudges on the disc.
I`ve not had the same problem myself but a friend reckons he just has to clean the disc and it`s ok.
