RE: When is IDTV not IDTV?

Aw thanks Mike!

THATS why nothing happens with MY red button.

I dont think interactivity is all its cracked up to be anyway!

When is IDTV not IDTV?

I have a Bush `Integrated Digital Television Set`!

Except it isn`t Integrated, if what I understand `Integrated` to mean.
It doesn`t do anything when I press that `little old red button`, as one
annoying newsreader once put it. He didn`t hear me reply, lucky for him.
But its not his fault. He doesn`t know that Bush made a few Digital tellys
which didn`t do the integrated thing and I bet he never will.

Do you think it may possibly be an offence under the Trade Descriptions Act?

RE: How do you know when you can get an update for your digibox?

Ah! I should be more clear about my equipment. eh scratch that!

I actually meant the digbox for freeview, and I actually meant the
digbox inside my IDTV set. And as it`s a Bush I don`t think they
even bother to put updates out.

Whenever I have tried an update, the telly goes off, comes back on,
shows a blank screen with `auto update` comes up, and after about
20 to 30 seconds message then reads `update error`. Then it goes
back to the channel it was on previously.

There is a postbox function which was obviously meant to notify
users of updates but I have never had anything come through on that.

Looking at Choathy`s method of forcing an update with the sky digibox
maybe I could try a similar trick with my aerial signal lead!

Wow! You can get `easter eggs on discs!

You learn something new everyday. I`m stacking all my discs up just as soon as I mention that I can get 2 cream eggs in my mouth at the same time!

Takes ages to get rid of them though.

RE: you know that advert where that bloke smashes his car into a 206 shape?

Maybe if you ran it into a wall and crunched it up a bit the flip back roof wouldn`t work.

...can you see the flaw in this suggestion?!

How do you know when you can get an update for your digibox?

I always get an update error message whenever I try.

Do you get a message or am I missing announcements somewhere?

I`m afraid I have a Bush so maybe that serves me right.

RE: Reoc A3 DVD player

Thanks Baby I`ll give them a try...

RE: DVD PLAYER EXSTENSION SPEAKERS

I expect someone with a lot more tech knowhow than me will enlighten you better but here`s my shot anyway, (not just cos I cant sleep).

IMHO it depends on your DVD player, if you have an ordinary job like mine (LG 3300D - el cheapo) there are no speaker jacks. You have to have your sound through the tv or connect the 2 Lineout leads to your amp!

I really don`t know about the more expensive DVD players out there. Maybe some of them do have internal amps and allow you to connect speakers and those big sub woofer thingys you hear so much about.

RE: How do I play sound from the TV through my dvd sound system??

I had problems getting decent sound from my telly. Well, its a Bush so
what can I expect. I solved it by using a multi-scart block, attaching my DVD, Video, and Audio.
I connected my Audio with a scart to 2 line input jacks at the Audio end.

Maybe you can connect a scart in this way to 2 aux jacks on your Grundig!

RE: Reoc A3 DVD player

My thanks and apologies to clayts for the web address and moving my post to the appropriate forum.

Reoc A3 DVD player

A friend (not on the net) asked me if I could find a hack for this machine to make it multi region. I did a search but no luck. ...anyone?

He says it sticks sometimes too, or pauses, now and then. Seems to be
a common problem, maybe it`s the cheaper machines though.

RE: What`s your favourite Christmas Movie?

Me, my wife, my sis, and my two cats all agree, on the BEST

Scrooge ever, Alastair Sim! as in the 1950 A Christmas Carol,

Best Xmas film too, If you HAVE to watch one!

Many thanks to BigAde for movie web site.

RE: Logix 3300D playback problems

I`ve got the same DVD player.

I`ve also got Holy Grail, second copy from Tesco actually because the first was totally unwatchable. This copy does work ok but occasionally does the same thing you describe. Maybe once or twice, then the film carries on ok.

All my other dvd`s work ok, with a slight delay in sound, most noticeable with dialogue. I`ve recently done a multi region hack job which didn`t seem to harm it. I can live with the sound delay, if anyone can tell me it`s
normal !!

RE: Where are the black hobbits at?

Oh Dear!

We are getting laughed at you know!

RE: TEST THE NATION:- How did you do??

I did it, and my wife did it too, so ...yes we did it together!

Actually we are both of the view that the more times you do it,
the better you get!

Change the order if you like,

Allow longer time,

Even change the questions,
(well what were you thinking of?)

And our scores! ...Not telling,

lots of room for improvement though.

RE: Stop DVD playing intro.

This really annoys me two. Some DVD`s let you fast forward to the menu
but you cant seem to stop or get through the intro screen any quicker than normal speed.

(sorry no cure, just sympathy!)

RE: Where will I get the cheapest 32" widescreen????

Hi Bubblegum.

Whatever you do, dont buy a Bush IDTV, they are CRAP!

I have a 28" widescreen, thought about getting the bigger brother
(32") but have been put off by

a/ crappy I mean really crappy sound.

b/. a fault that exhibits as a violent off/on spasm that the repairers cannot
seem to find the cause of.

c/ freeview is pants!

I want a SONY for xmas.

RE: Pictues freezing

I thought that was due to dirt or smudges on the disc.

I`ve not had the same problem myself but a friend reckons he
just has to clean the disc and it`s ok.

LG DVD 3300D sound problem

Hi All,
I`ve just tried and successfully turned my LG DVD 3300D player into a multi region machine! Thanks to this site. Not that I needed to yet.
I dont understand; why have regions 1, 2, or whatever, when you can
make them multi-region anyway.

It is my first DVD, (apart from one I got from Littlewoods Index that wouldn`t play at all).

I have noticed a slight delay in the sound reproduction which occurs
whether I have the sound through my telly (Bush IDTV) or Aiwa audio
unit, both using scart. I also have a video player in there somewhere.
Also I have set the sound output to 2 channel(stereo).

Is this natural? Does it depend on how you hook up? It`s only a slight
delay and something I can live with but would like to eliminate if at all
possible. Maybe it`s only LG machines or just mine and it`s faulty.

Hope someone can enlighten me on this.

Tim
