having just bought a mico clasica 20 from sainsburys on a lot of peoples recomendations got to say im not impressed i have a lot of drop out on my dvd rs and digi blockiness now and again vcds svcds play fine
but i need a player that will play both with ease....im gonna return mine asap unless anyone has the answer...to my prob..thanks
Before taking the Mico back try playing same discs on other players. In the What Hi Fi review (from memory) they said it had one of the best video chips you can get, hence it`s ability to read discs that others cannot. I have had no problems at all. This followed The Wharfdale, Schneider, Toshiba 210e, Pioneer 444, Akura. I went around shops with DVDs & SVCDs & played them on other players, the Mico was head & shoulders above the others. The mechanism is Panasonic & if it had come out under another `Top` name you can bet your life it would have been 2 to 3 times the price it was. There may be other good players out there but I`ve yet to be convinced with the Harder to play VCDs & SVCDs I have in my collection. I know a lot of people say I`ve got this & I`ve got that & it plays everything, I would bet they don`t play ALL the SVCDs & VCDs I have, with perfect lip sinc.
Why is it that with some vcds playback is fine, and other`s it`s dodgy? Is it to do with the way the disc has been mastered, a problem with mpeg compression, or is it to do with how the player interprets the data being passed to it?
