Page 1 of What TV should i get PLEASE!!!

Im on a reasonably tight budget £500

im 16

and ive got a dvd player with 5.1 decoding and the spoeakers already

the TV will be used to watch movies a lot, and play a lot of Xbox and Gamecube and Ps2 games.

A few major things are whether or not its worth forking out the extra money on a flat screened TV or not, and as im paying for it myself id like the extra cash spending to be worthwhile.

Are there any tv`s u guys recommend???

P.S. I can stretch the budget if really really needed.

A bit over budget at £554 but the Toshiba 28Z07B from www.tesco.com seems to be well spec`d. Dolby Pro-logic, 3 scart sockets and free delivery. If our TV can`t be repaired reasonably cheaply that`s the one my wife and I fancy.HTH

There never was good pay going up chimneys!!

The price of this excellent TV will probably plummet as it is now discontinued, so keep checking the usual suspects, eg http://www.empiredirect.co.uk http://www.hed.co.uk etc

Clayts can you tell me if this set allows you to connect another two speakers or does it rely on the TV`s speakers for the front sound. The only reason I ask is that my old Hitachi has 4 external speakers.

AFAIK it`s just the rear speakers that are separate with this TV, I`m afraid.

Cheers Bud . It seems a bit of a pity that my old Hitachi C2574TN had 4 externals yet the "Superior" modern sets don`t. Guess I`ll just have to keep trawling. Thanks anyway.
