Hi, It is a Philips 1000, it is region free, but I was told it would have to be chipped to turn off the Marcovision.Have not found anyone in my area that can do it.

Yep ... sad but true M8 ... Have you tried using the Sonel Macro Master .. it`s usually a foolproof device and does the job nicely ... just connect up and away you go. You can pick one up for around £30 .. I use one with my Phillips 710 and have no problems.
