Yes, I have the Samsung HTQ20, it plays ` Bought ` DVD`s OK, but it won`t play any ` Backups ` on either DVD-R or DVD+R, it just gives a message ` Forbidden Disc ` when I attempt to play one .. does anyone else have this problem, or know how to solve it please.

Watcha eattheliving .. yep saw the Argos book .. that looks a good buy for the price .. gunna nip down the local Argos tomorrow and get me one ... hope that it is " Hackable " but if not .. hey a cheap 2nd player.

I`ve used the Macro Master by Sonel for nearly a year now M8 ... Never had a problem, or bad backup yet

The_Shirt ... Macrovision is a Copy Protection ... you disable it so that you can " Back Up " your DVD`s to VHS etc without the picture / sound distortions.

Thanks for the Hack Presa .. have passed it on but it hasn`t been tried and tested yet :-)

Watcha M8 .. I use the Macro Master with my Phillips and have never had any probs ... You can get them at most " Computer Markets " or purchase one via .... www.sonel.com ... price around £30

Yep ... sad but true M8 ... Have you tried using the Sonel Macro Master .. it`s usually a foolproof device and does the job nicely ... just connect up and away you go. You can pick one up for around £30 .. I use one with my Phillips 710 and have no problems.

You may be correct regarding Macro Master compatability but I have used one for nearly a year now, on two different VCD Players and VCR`s, without problem. The DVD`s are .. Phillips 710 and Aiwa XR-DV525 ... the VCR`s ... Sanyo and Orion.

Cheers for that clayts .. It must have been stuck !! i stripeed the unit down again, put the power on and gave the disc a whirl or two with my finger and away it went .. playing brilliantly now. Many thanks for your solution

Naw it`s all discs ... thanks mate. I have had it for over a year so no chance of returning it ... DOH , never had any probs with it until I left it off for all that time. Am going to leave it on all night and see if it works 2morra ... thanks for your input.

JMB 3000 ... ( No Disc )

Can anyone throw any light on my problem ? ... I have a JMB 3000 DVD Player which keeps putting up the " No Disc " report every time I insert a disc. I have had a look at the operation with the player top of and all that happens when I insert a disc is that it spins about 3 times and I get the no disc message. I did put the Region free hack in, from this site, and up until this I have had no problems. The player had been switched off for about 3 weks whilst I was decorating and the problem has only occurred since I switched it back on !!

Could it be a " Dew " factor ( although there are no indications ) or is it the laser thats gone kaput ?? ... would welcome any views.
