Do video machines havve macro hacks?
Guys..
I have a sharp VC-MH704 video machine, when I link my DVD player through it then to the TV, I get a perfect picture until I press record, then the macrovision kicks in. It got me wondering if the macrovision can be disabled on the video machine...Any ideas on this?

Not a "hack" as such, but it may be possible to modify the VCR so it proves less susceptible to the Macrovision signal. Probably easier just to buy an external Macrovision remover though.

try www.sonel.com macro master cable, just like a scart lead, £30.

RE: Do video machines havve macro hacks?
Video machines will not have macro hacks as the macrovision explotes the automatic gain control circuitry in the VCR. This is why everything is ok till you prees the rec button!
RE: Do video machines havve macro hacks?
so defeat the automatic gain control and we win! older vhs machines are supposed to ignore macro, get down the car boot sales!

Defeteating the automatic gain control would do nothing, as this is what controls the picture, brightness etc. If the picture is dim, it will adjust the brightness, naw, macrovison is a false signal which tricks the AGC and makes the VCR think it is fed with bright and dim pictures. So the AGC keeps adjusting the picture. This is why the copies are no good.
