RE: Macrovision

as a certain bypass for macro, buy a macromaster cable from www.sonel.com £30, looks like a scart cable, rids any macro u may have.

connection problems?

due to my own problems of connections thru scart sockets, i have some male-female scart leads, scart splitter leads (two outputs from one male) and a few scart splitter boxes (again, two outputs off one input), also i will have gold pin scart leads (normal male-male) at a very good price. e-mail me ikodiko[at].moc.tenretnitb As you will be aware, copying of dvd`s is ok for your own use/backup........and these boxes/leads make it easy to make TWO copies.....

RE: Forget hacks, beat macro for sure.........

did i ask yr opinion asshole? anyway, the dvd was free.........

RE: Forget hacks, beat macro for sure.........

cos for some machines there ARE no macro hack! and we cant wait 10 years for one to arrive

RE: crown/oritron macro off help

buy a £30 macro master cable from www.sonel.com

RE: Hitachi HKD-K150 Macrovision Hack Needed

ive just got a macro master cable which defeats macro on any dvd! £30. www.sonel.com

How can I change output of my Oritron 1030?

After trying a macro master cable (which defeated macrovision on my Hannibal 2 dvd) I still have my problem of squiggly lines on a vhs copy of a USA dvd, even tho I can view well thru the same vcr. there are now only 2 possibilities (if we rule out RCE, but the discs are region-free anyway).
1, My dvd out put is the wrong PAL for the vcr (PAL 60 instead of PAL 50).
2. The dvd output is in nstc. what would i see if this were the case?

anyone used a x-drive dvd?

Forget hacks, beat macro for sure.........

Buy a Macro Master from

GBP 30 and it works!

RE: Now then, heres an idea.....

heres the problem, ive some USA dvd`s from a mate, which I want to copy for backup purposes (of course). I can watch thru the vcr but copies have squiggly horizontal lines. It seems these are NOT down to macro, but rather the output being non-uk PAL (tho not NTSC?). everyone has a differenr idea, from dual band dvd`s - dual band vcr or signal converters. me? im going gaga............

I must say im suprised that a disc can alter the output of the dvd player.

Dual Pal 50/60

anyone recommend a dual pal output dvd? or a dual pal input vcr?

Now then, heres an idea.....

ive a problem with pal output off a USA dvd disc right? I can view ok thru vcr but cant get clear vhs copy, probably cos ive pal 50 and need pal 60 (or visa versa). Now then, what if i got a "transmit video pic to any tv in the house" unit? only put my dvd signal int the transmitter and the receiver into the vcr? the output has got to be UK std.....I think, so it should transmit to the receiver the signal and then send to the vcr what it needs, a uk std signal! brilliant, and cheaper than a signal converter or new dvd or vcr...........what do you all reckon? (oritron dvd, region free dvd, good tv image, macro master on order)

RE: This macro thing, can someone tell me........

seems now that the problem may be a conflict caused by the dvd`s being from the USA. they play fine thru a vcr, but my UK feature films wont (I think THATS macro), can a usa dvd generate the output of a dvd player in ntsc? cos it seems most uk vcr`s only record in pal. ive priced up a ntsc-pal converter but they will be too dear, maybe easier/cheaper to get a dual standard vcr. but then will the vhs tapes be in pal or ntsc? DOH! my head....

RE: Do video machines havve macro hacks?

make sure discs are not USA with ntsc output, expensive to beat

RE: Do video machines havve macro hacks?

try www.sonel.com macro master cable, just like a scart lead, £30.

NTSC to PAL signal converter required

anyone where? how? if? cost? help me buddies......

RE: what exactly does macrovision do?

the discs giving the squigly lines are from the USA, im thinking my problem is this NTSC/PAL question, so i maybe need a VCR that can accept NTSC? I thought this issue was just for the TV itself, more so because i can watch the films clearly thru the vcr. the discs themselves are region free and the dvd is set to mulit-region. so maybe dvd-betamax-vhs would work (if i can get the signal into the betamax! - probably no scart socket, DOH!)

what exactly does macrovision do?

if i can WATCH a film thru my VCR, but when i run record i get squiggly lines on the copy is that macro? when i wanna watch haninibal 2 thru the vcr i cant, the picture comes and goes. which is macro? and whats firmware? would using an old betamax vcr ignore the macrovision? i can get one for £19 and can still end up with a vhs copy.

RE: This macro thing, can someone tell me........

the dvd can change i understand. the dvd plays the films fine, and i can copy other dvds (but not hannibal 2 so far), i can WATCH the films i wanna copy on my tv thru the vcr so i think the ntsc/pal settings are fine (maybe)....I had only B+W output till i changed some dvd settings, now ive full/good colour

This macro thing, can someone tell me........

I have some dvd`s I can watch thru a vcr on out tv AND can copy very well, but some dvd`s WONT copy clear even though I can watch them thru the vcr, the copies have squiggly horizontal lines. These DVD`s are region free but I had to reset the format to get colour on the TV. I have Hannibal 2 also and when I tried to copy this I got the picrure fading in and out.
Question, is macrovision on ALL the time or do certain discs "switch" its on, also is there more than one type of macro? my machine is an oritron 1030, it is set to "all regions" vis hack but discs are region free anyway.

Anyone used a macro buster cable from sonel.com? also.....

Sonel advertise a macro buster cable for defeating macrovision, anyone tried one? also how come i can copy some tapes great but some obviosly were never meant to be copied (purely for a backup copy of course!) are there macro dvd`s?
