thanks to this site i have changed the region code but the V>C>R will not tape the region 1 dvd . is there a way round this.

Hack Instructions To make your player Multi Region follow the hack instructions below. - Good Look !!! Using the players front control panel: Switch on the player Press and hold down FF and Pause When you see a set of Language options, let go of the buttons Now select a language option of your choice Using the Remote Control : Press Setup Press Repeat You now need to enter one of the following codes, but you must know the current region setting of your player Region 1 = 29334 Region 2 = 38767 Region 3 = 56732 Region 4 = 76884 Region 5 = 53814 Region 6 = 24462 The current region of your player should now be shown OnScreen Press 9 for Region Free Press 1 for Region 1 Press 2 for Region 2 etc. Using the players front control panel: Press open Using the Remote Control : Press Standby If any of the warning screens appear to be stuck or become stuck press the FORWARD SEARCH button to bypass [ BACK <remote.html> ]

THE CHANGE OF REGION AS YOU DESCRIBED IT AND IT WORKS FINE BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE VIDEO RECORDER WILL NOT
TAPE THE REGION I DVD ALTHOUGH IT TAPES REGION 2 O.K. AS THIS IS A COMBINED DVD/VCR DO YOU THINK THERE IS A WAY TO OVERCOME THE PROBLEM THANKS FOR ANY HELP

hello wonder,
I tried to hack the samsung v5000. but after i press 76884 the screen displays 4: black level off. then i press 9 for multiregion nothing happened, but i still followed the instruction to press open button bla..bla..

what actually should be displayed on the screen after u press the region code (like 76884) ? is it supposed to show u black level etc??

The reason why you can`t record region 1 discs is because the machine is a PAL 50 system and can`t/won`t convert the PAL 60 (region 1) signal to PAL 50 to record, so the vcr head will hunt (vary in speed) and cause a similar affect to macrovision. Maybe it could be chipped,I don`t know.

Have tried the hack but so far appears to be unsuccessful.
Does the Disc need to be in the tray?
I have managed to get to the Language option stage but can`t get it to go to Samsung Logo using TV View.
All help most welcome.

I have tried this several times but it does not work. I do not get the window asking foe which language. Any tips are most greatfull appreciated!

turn off the dvd player then turn back on.no need for a disc. select dvd mode then press set up once if language does not appear press set up again.then press repeat a/b once then press in the numbers 38767 in the top left hand corner you should see 02 press 9 for region free.then press open button then press standyby that should do it.when you press in the first number after pressing the repeat a/b the curser should not move to that language if it does start over good luck
