I have recently seen the Alba DVD55 for sale at £39.95 at Toys `r` Us, but didn`t purchase it because I don`t know if it needs a hack to make it multi region.Also I would like to know if it plays VCD`s and SVCD`s etc.Can any body help me with more info on this machine please?

it plays
vcd svcd mp3-cd mp3-DVD dvd+R dvd-R mpeg and it played a windows media file of a fireworks explosion i downloaded,but still only plays Region 2 movies,except the Region 1 version of Resident Evil.
