In order to find out whether my Sony DAV-S300 (multi-region) will play RCE disks, I`ve been informed I need to get onto the system`s menu on the player. This can be done through a hack on the remote. On this menu I can check what region the machine is set to originally, if it`s Region 1 I`m okay.
Does anyone by any chance know the correct hack, or perhaps where I can info on getting this hack? I`ve tried several things before, but with no luck. Can anyone please help?
Hi You need a hardware upgrade which is manual select. This plays all regions and all R.C.E discs Regards Michael

But surely I can get on the system menu through the hack I`ve been told about without having to pay for an upgrade? I mean it plays all regions anyway, and for all I know, it could already be R.C.E compatible. Thanks!
Dont worry about manual switching .. you dont necessarily need it ... why not ask your supplier about RCE ??

Okay Steve, thanks for your help. I would ask my supplier but I doubt that they`d be much help to be honest. The hack you originally gave me - have you seen this work? Also, does your company do a chip to ensure RCE compatibility?

I have an auto chip that will play "The Patriot" which is RCE encoded ...
