Pacific 1002 multiregion out of box
The Pacific 1002 from ASDA is multiregion out of box.
No hacking needed. Ignore the user manual that tells you it is a region 2 machine with limited capabilities it actually plays everything DVD, DVD-R, MP3, VCD, even Super VCD.
Also it converts NTSC to PAL proper. That means you can watch region 1 disks on ANY TV - no need for RGB input and you can tape it too on a bog standard PAL video, provided you have a macromaster lead.
Buy it - its a bargain. Cheap as chips at under £70.
RE: Pacific 1002 multiregion out of box
I bought this yesterday and it doesn`t seem to work as multiregion out of the box. Do you think I should change it for another one at Asda? I can`t get any of the remote hacks to work either having tried all the ones given on this site so far. Any ideas???
RE: Pacific 1002 multiregion out of box
For those of you struggling, there seems to be two versions of the machine badged 1002 at the moment. The one with a 19 page manual has a pinging drawer and the "7 or 0" hack works on these. The one with a 27 page manual doesn't 'ping', and the "1, 3, 6, 9" hack worked on this.
I have come across 3 of these in the last week bought from the same asda, two with the 19 page manual, 1 with the 27. With the 'pinging' machine, I had 3 goes at the '1, 3, 6, 9' hack with no joy, but the 'setup, 7, pause, prev, next, setup' worked perfect.
Has anyone had any joy silencing the pinging drawer?
