Hitachi DV-P305e using Thomson hack, help please!!

Fabrize Tracanna (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 6th December 2000, 19:14

I have tried everything!!
After cold starting, I select the language ( I have tried the codes straight from the language screen as well)
I have tried all the different region codes, each after doing another cold start. What else can I try?

Please help this is driving me mad, have I got the only player in the world that can`t be hacked???

Fabrize, you are not alone!

I am also almost certifiable at this stage. The guy in Dixons even dissuaded me from buying a One4All cos he said this model definitely could be multi-regioned with it`s own remote.

I have tried evry possible way to make the Thomson hack work:
1) Put the codes in on the language selection screen (this just results in German being chosen as the language)
2) Selected my language then applied the codes.

All from a coldstart. Nothing.
No messages appear on the screen (or led display)

So, can anyone shed any light on this? Have any Hitachi owners got this to work using the Hitachi remote (mine is a DV-RM300)?

Please, please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like some newer firmware does not work with this hack. We are still waiting for a solution.

Hi FM,

I have just read your various posts on 709online.com

May I confirm with you that you have also tried the hack using the one4all procedure (or directly with an Aiwa RC?)

I don`t want to go buy a one4all and find it`s of no use in this case.

To think I had an actual Samsung 709 in my sights and got sidetracked by the Hitachi model :(

Stewart,

In desperation I tried that, even though I knew it would not work.

I have tried the correct procedure countless times, but no dice. :(

It does seem that whatever firmware revision is in my, FM`s and Fabrize`s Hitachi is not hackable (yet).

Mine was bought just yesterday and already I`ve aged 20years! I guess I`ll have to be patient.

My 305 is also not hackable with the Thomson Hack. I continue to use the One4All hack which does work fine. My machine is about 5 months old.

FM,

I don`t know the answer to that. I believe I`d have to open the case up to locate it(?)

I may end up doing that, but tomorrow (Fri) I`m going to get one of those one4all things and give that a try seeing as dockarl got his working with it. I`ll ask the guy in the store if he knows what firmware my machine has (he was pretty knowledgable and understood about region hacks, which isn`t always the case)

I would like to know what one4all model dockarl used though.

Bought the One4All (URC 7560), but so far it hasn`t worked :(
I`ve followed the instructions to the letter, but will keep trying as others have said it may take quite a few attempts. Maybe I`ll strike lucky or maybe I`m just p***ing in the wind...
I`ll be keeping the new remote though :)

I hope Mike G gets a reply soon in his search for the Hitachi eeprom.
