Arise Army of the Aiwa 370 ARISE !!
Yes it is hackable, in fact if you head on over to http://www.mailuk.com you can pick up a multi region PS2 :)
However it doesnt play PS 1 games on it...which is a pity.
RE: PSX 2 Multi Region????
Yes it can be mutiregion.

I think they were refering to multi-region DVD playback - in which case the answer seems to be no at the moment.
Multi-region games playback has been achieved and, IIRC, the hex for it was posted to the discussion group on www.dvdchips.co.uk a few weeks ago.
RE: PSX 2 Multi Region????
I thought this was a DVD topic and NO it cant play Multi region DVD it might be able to play games but not the Films ;P

RE: PSX 2 Multi Region????
there is a pic hack out there, even for europe machines but the schematics dont show the current uk released board yet so we dont know how to connect it. give them a few weeks however.....
It looks unlikely to be able to play region 1 / NTSC discs since this unit UK, seems to be PAL only
So the hack is for CDR PSX1/2 games only?
one of the wharfdale 750 (or clone) hacks might work as the PS2 dvd playback is based on the same LSI chipset.
But the problem is finding a remote which has number keys on it as well. All the ones I have seen don`t have numbers.
RE: PSX 2 Multi Region????

RE: PSX 2 Multi Region????
Just to let you all know the playstation can be made mutiregion with a single ic.
We have tried it and it works all regions, but we are checking the legal side of it first .
We deal with sony quite frequently being new of course they told us the warranty will be void.
