what scart lead?

stevet (Harmless) posted this on Monday, 20th November 2000, 11:38

I want to buy a decent scart cable as I still have the one that came with my player. Does anyone know the best one to get. I want to shell out on a good one now so money is no object!

Cheers!

I have an IXOS 126 which cost 35 smackers, I believe the new QED is supposed to be "da bollox", but the difference between the IXOS(which is highly rated) and a shielded 15 pound one is unnoticeable in my opinion.

Perhaps the expensive ones have a far better lifespan?

I use www.keene.co.uk who I found to be very good.

They do a gold plated scart from £12.99 with 0.75m Oxygen free copper cable

Try www.hifistore.co.uk, Had my Vivanco Prowire from them it seems pretty good, solidly made, gold plated, 1.5mtr and slots in the old scart quite nicely. Online they are £16 but got mine for £15 in store, but you have to say to them that they told you £15 other wise its £16.95, strange but true.

Also try the cables from Richer Sounds - fully shielded with gold-plated connectors for around £20-25. In their shops, or web-site is at www.richersounds.co.uk.
