You Tube 3D

I have noticed this on a few of my videos but didn`t think anything more to it as all mine were filmed or taken in `mono` or 2D. Last night I was playing with it & I used the Green/Red glasses & I was amazed at the quality of the 3D conversion. Some places it is poor but others it is amazing & you would not guess it came from a mono/ 2D source. You can choose the colour type of the glasses, Blue Red -Green Red etc. Colour or BW. swap left right to get the correct effect. Both images sided by side & so on. If you choose the side by side & cross your eyes until the pictures merge it can be amazing. Its to the left of the change quality button but for some reason is only on some of my videos. Anyone else tried it?

Does the You Tube 3D conversion look any good on your TV?

I think it has to be a certain resolution before you can enable it, I had to turn it on in the Edit Info bit for one of mine. It`s interesting, but far from good. :/

If I get 5 minutes I`ll try a screen grab of one of mine, it was truly amazing. As I said before, some were poor.

No more cross eyes please :( It`s starting to hurt and I`m worrying they`ll stay that way. :)

Funnily enough I uploaded my first `true 3D` video to YouTube a week-or-so ago. It`s a prototype design to test if a 3D car dashboard interface could be effective. The final demo was shown at the January CES in Vegas, and was a combination of a real central speedo with two 3D screens mounted either side (similar tech to the Nintendo 3DS - ie no glasses required).

It was a bit of a pain to try and get the stereoscopic 3D to be effective (I of course had to set up virtual stereo cameras and then do two render sequences for each eye animation\), and it was a steep learning curve. I was only able to view it for the first time in stereo 3D when I uploaded it to YouTube (using anaglyph red/cyan glasses), and was relieved to find I could actually see some 3D `depth` - perhaps it`s more prominent on a dedicated 3D monitor/tv? If anyone watches it, please let me know?

The new YouTube tech for allowing uploads of stereo 3D content is great - you just have to prep the two separate left eye/right eye video files side by side onto a single video, and then upload it. You can then choose the method of viewing the 3D via the YouTube controller.

I can get the modern 3D effect, but the red/cyan doesn`t work for me due to my buggered right eye
